This fixing is part of a range of brass inserts that are supplied by RTS, designed to work with plastic materials. When in place, this fixing is designed to allow the mating of two products using a simple male threaded bolt into the fixing.
Simply pre-drill the hole of the correct dimensions in the plastic component and insert the fixing using the thermic or ultrasonic process. Once inserted there are no stress fractures or weakness with this style of insertion. Making the process much more durable and stronger than gluing or press fitting.
